James Barron
(1768-1851)

James Barron was born in Virginia on 15 Sep 1768 and died in Norfolk, Virginia on 21 Apr 1851. He served in the United States Navy.

He married Elizabeth Armistead in 1790.

Notes:

Younger brother of Samuel Barron. Father-in-Law of George Smith Blake.

Challenged Commodore Stephen Decatur to a duel and mortally wounded him (22 March 1820).
